Ancient, Taxila, (c. 1st Century BC), Panchanegama Guild Issue, Copper Unit, 6.70 gms, 18.74x19.75 mm, Obverse: Wheel (Dharma Chakra) at center, Three arch hill (Chaitya) above, Reverse: Top field has a Swastika flanked by Taurines on either side, Bottom field has Kharoshthi legend reading ’Panchanekama’, ‘Panchanekama’ is a Prakrit word which means a confederation of five guilds, These guild issues are testament of existence of merchants guilds in ancient India, about very fine, very rare.
