Mughal, Akbar (AH 963-1014, 1556-1605 AD), Hawk Gold Token, 5.59 gms, 19.01 mm, Asir Mint (fully visible at bottom on rev), Falcon type, Ilahi Month Isfandarmuz (Pisces), Year 45, The fortress of Asir (Asirgarh) was conquered by Akbar from Bahadur Khan Faruqi, the rebel ruler of Khandesh, after a prolonged siege in January 1601. It was the last major conquest of his reign, in a campaign he undertook under his own command. After his return to Agra, Akbar assumed the title of 'Emperor of the Deccan', similar to Zeno # 126748, KM # 119C.1, about extremely fine, extremely rare.
